One word my friends: AMERICA! (In really obnoxious fake southern accent)

(wanna know why english is the only language allowed in MY chat box? Because this is America, and we speak American!)

*reads other peoples "habits"*

Yeeeaa mine is much worse than most of these (except maybe Tim's...)

Often times when I'm laying down for extended periods of time while reading or derping on the interwebs, I subconsciously take of my socks and start picking at my toenails with my fingernails... I know it's gross, but hey, I can't remember the last time that I've ever had to clip my toenails, so maybe it's not so bad after all...

No wait. It's still pretty gross XD.

This certainly was an exciting thread to read! Here are my thoughts:

Though I agree with Nick that creativity cannot be standardized, even he must admit that one can discern between builds that are aesthetically pleasing, and those that are not. (otherwise there would be no way to promote people)

I don't really want to get into the debate about whether or not others' promotion standards are proper or not, so I'll stick to the idea of the thread, (which I think is good, btw) and let people know how I review a guest/member who asks for one.

The first things that hit me when I see an individuals build are the shape and size. Is the build a box? If not, does it have a decent size that lets me know that it wasn't thrown together to get the rank? This is the most important part of the build in my opinion.

The next thing that I analyze is the color usage. Did the guest/member truly attempt to make the colors pleasing to the eye? Or did they spam a single block type throughout the whole build? I generally appreciate those who attempt to make the colors of the build match the theme of the build.

Just from the outside of the user's build, you should already be getting an idea of whether or not they are deserving of the recruit rank, but I move on for a thorough review.

The interior part of the build can be a deal breaker for me. If I'm on the verge of deciding whether or not a build deserves the recruit rank, the interior helps let me know. Did the guest/member really try to make the interior design with thoughtfulness? Or did they just spread 1x1 "chairs" in a random fashion? I can see whether that individual took the time to think out what the inside should look like, and I appreciate when it matches the theme of the build. Carpets are a great touch to any homes that are built.

Ahh, now I let the guest know whether or not I believe the build to be recruit worthy. This itself should not be taken lightly, being rude can make a guest upset. If the build is not up to par, I like to say things such as "Unfortunately the build is not detailed enough for the recruit rank." Then I give them some advice so that they have an idea of what could make the build better. Encourage them to work harder rather than telling them they're hopeless. (unless the build is similar to a 10x10 box, then tell them that we don't rank for box houses)

IMPORTANT: I've seen guests get really upset when a builder/op reviews their house without asking them whether they are attempting to achieve the recruit rank. Sometimes users just want the approval of higher ranks, and if that's all they're asking of you, you may as well :P.

Wow. I know this was a long post but i hope that at least one member of opticraft found it helpful! Feel free to tell me that my opinions are incorrect! :D

People need instructions for lots of thins. I have had to walk so many people through the steps of getting WoM. We should have an instructions section under support with instructions for everything.

That's actually a really great idea... somebody should get on this.

Briefly describe all your creations: There are only two, but I was getting impatient for a new recruit world XD. The first is a giant golden chess piece, and the second is a roman build with a cella in it.
What worlds are the creations on: Chess piece is in member, roman build is in recruit
Links to screenshots of the creation:
Names of players who helped contribute: Kurseddragon gave me some advice on the roman build
What is your current rank in Opticraft ?: Recruit
Extra (Anything else you want to mention): I realize there are only two builds here, but I'm getting impatient for the new recruit world. I won't be discouraged at all if I'm rejected, because my next build is gonna blow you away  ;)
Do you agree with our terms(http://www.opticraft.net/index.php?topic=3.0) ?: Yes

Rejected / Re: Operator Application xNuzzy

I'm going to be extremely honest with everyone right now. I'm still somewhat new to the opticraft server, and I've never decided to support anybody's op application, seeing as how I don't truly know anybody well enough.

This being said, I think that Nuzzy would make a FANTASTIC op. I see him on quite often, and his goal in the classic server is always the same: to rid the server of grief, and help others when they need it. I don't see the problem with only becoming a builder to become op, seeing as that's the only way that you CAN become op. Nuzzy is helpful, mature, and a great person.

One last note, I wish I took a screenshot of this, but I wasn't aware that Nuzzy was applying for op. A quote from him to me in game after I told him that nobody was talking because we were all too busy building:  "I'm not too busy building, I'm just waiting to help someone."

Supported 100% Nuzzy, I hope that this helps in some way!

(edit: I had the quote worded incorrectly, the actual quote has been placed.)
