It's a national holiday for remembering those who died fighting at Gallipoli in WWI. It is only celebrated in Australia and New Zealand though to my knowledge.

Here in Australia it is a type of rememberence day were us Australians not 'celebrate' but remember the war soldiers whom may have died during the war. Though Anzac day is the first day that flowers grew on the battlefields, so today we wear poppies which were the first types. And that's it. And people wake up at five to go to the anzac ceremonial service

did I say celebrate, it's hard to put the words remembrance and holiday into the same area. But khoi is right for once.

You guys have got that wrong, but quite a lot.  ANZAC Day does not only remember and commemorate WW1, it commemorates all the Asutralian and New Zealand troops who have died in any wars, conflicts and peace keeping operations.

It used to be the day we remember the ANZACs who fought at Gallipoli.

Nice try guys :)
