This could be a very good idea but there would still have to be something only obtainable through donations, or else the server would lose almost if not all of its income. I do think it would be good to have some kind of upper class items/privileges players can buy in the market or somewhere to act as a money sink. It would also give more of a reason to trade since the money could be used for something apart from being on /baltop.

Caanite is the most welcoming player on the server, hands down. He always says Hi to new people and is constantly getting new people to come chat on mumble. Definitely a friendly and mature player deserving of moderator.

Why you should become a moderator: I believe I should be promoted to moderator because I am a friendly and active player. I am helpful and respectful to all, and do my best to get new players acquainted to our server whether it be by giving them resources to start their house or just providing general in game advice. I am also active at a time when most other players and mods aren't from 10pm-3am (Eastern Time) and even beyond that depending on the day. I'm a mature and serious player who has never had any major disputes or problems with other members of Opticraft and am often one to help resolve such issues as well as knowing when to joke around and have a good time. I do my best to participate in all aspects of Opticraft, not just logging in on the server. I check the forums daily and if there's people on mumble, you can usually find me talking with them.
I appreciate you taking the time to read my application, and best of luck to all other applicants.

Maybe the server is dying, but if you were dying would you just want to accelerate it and take your own life, or would you make the absolute most you could out of the time remaining. I may not be the most senior member on the server but I'm gonna be here until there's nothing left to connect to.
I challenge every player to go to some website or some social media page and post about opticraft, what it is, how it was a while ago, what it is now, and how it could be once more. I'll be adding a page to my website for it soon enough.
I agree with this challenge entirely and encourage everyone to take part.

While I agree that we need something new and different if we are going to attract large amounts of new players, I don't think mini games are the way to go. The community on this server is the reason why most of the people still play here, and mini game servers have little to no community whatsoever. We need something that allows players to work together in a competitive and cooperative environment.
Maybe a new world dedicated solely to pvp where you can break/raid/grief other peoples bases would be a good way to go, or a creative world with plots or something to that effect where people can compete to see who can build the nicest things, with no restrictions like money or your ability to gather resources.
This is not to say that mini games are a bad idea, just that they would need some tweaking in order to make them more cooperative/community driven.
