Title: What's for Dinner?
Post by: Zeradeth_ on February 20, 2014, 03:09:15 am
So, as of late, I've come to find myself incredibly bored with my own diet. It consists of very few dishes and no variety. Where cooking is concerned, it's a passion of mine, and I love it. I will cook till the cows come in. But I am very limited in what I have for dinner on a day to day basis. This is mainly my mother's fault, but I cook more often than she does. As a result, I come to the largest community I know that is guaranteed to have varying dishes.

What do you all eat for dinner? This can be something you have every other night, or something that's special to your family. Something traditional to your heritage or something eaten often in your country/area/province etc. Something different, something yummy!

Recipes would be appreciated, but are not necessary. I can google recipes. I just need ideas for dishes.

Regards,
Zera

Ok well, I do breakfast sometimes for dinners. I know right so cool of me to say that.

But honestly here is a list of foods I guess I like:

-Any Mexican food.
-Meatball subs
-Schnitzel (Honestly I don't know how to spell it. I might have gotten it right.)
-Chinese food
-Chili
-Soup (A lot of different kinds)
Of course a lot more, just can't think of them.

Simply make a salad and a smoothie (Kinda my everyday dinner xP)

IF you want to make a smoothie that tastes somehow EXACTLY like a starfruit follow this recipe:

Take a blender and add 2 1/2 bananas. Then add a cut up mango (As much as you like). Add 1/2 cup of orange juice, add ice and blend it up. It's SO good lol.

I might try that one day

My mom sometimes makes fried plankton.  Go to the grocery store and find plankton and use a fryer to fry them lol. It's really good and make sure it's not burnt.

Lots of foodies here, this is definitely where I belong. I would suggest:

Pad Se Ew: Thai: Thick rice noodles, spinach or broccoli, chicken/pork/beef, soy sauce, it's stir-fried This will probably be really hard to make at home, but I suggest trying this at a Thai restaurant.

Jambalaya: Louisiana, Caribbean: Rice, veggies, and meat such as sausage, chicken, beef or pork, I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be very spicy. I had this the other day and it was definitely spicy for me.

Goya Mexican Rice-I love this stuff so much: Mexican: Yellow rice and assorted veggies such as corn and peppers. Just buy this stuff at the store or I suppose you could make this fairly easily. I suggest adding more corn to this, it tastes amazing.

More rice! Italian Risotto: Not sure how you would make this, just look up a recipe. Though, my mom uses a brand called "Riso Bello" that is amazing. We like to add mushrooms and top it off with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.

Not sure if everything I wrote is correct, just outlining the general idea of each dish as best as I can.

Hope this helps.

Funny how popular this thread is considering it's about food.
Boring choices for me: Just simply hash browns (potato, not the dutch ones that have marijuana) and chicken nuggets w/ corn.
