I barely know who they are but I pick Dumbledore because it has something to do with my last username that people would joke about. I still don't get the whole Snape joke shit to this day but whatever.

Dumbledore is just a wizard, a powerful wizard, but just a wizard none the less....
whereas Gandalf is an immortal being known as a Maiar......
Gandalf literally doesn't give two shits about Dumbledore because he can just sit around waiting for him to die.

whereas Gandalf is an immortal being known as a Maiar......

I would like to say that while I agree with most of your statements, Gandalf can die. If Maiar were immortal then the battle between the Balrog and Gandalf would last forever. Also not to mention that Sauron couldn't be defeated and Saruman couldn't die. Ageless would be a better word though. But I think Gandalf is better than Dumbledore in every way but pure magical power (Gandalf hardly uses his magic to directly interfere in the war). And to those who have seen the movies, yes I know Gandalf came back to life but it was not his doing rather than one of the Middle-earth Gods.
