I've seen this on another forum and I'd like to ask you guys the same thing..
So basically state what your username is and why you used it.

I use BMWGT3 because I love the car :P

Grand Chill - From memory i think the first time i used the name was in Star Wars Battlefront where it was Ch!ll. From there i went to Runescape where it was Grand Chill (the account then was hacked and my friend gave me theirs) i then got another account which i re-named Grand Chilly and Chilly. Then i came to minecraft and used Grand Chill ^_^

Here's basically how my thought process went when I chose my username:

"Hmm ... can't think of a decent username ... hmm ... well my name is Matt...
*Types matt* 
--ERROR: Username "matt" already taken. 
...... *adds number spam*"


And thus matt88222 was born.

i have an interesting story behind my username...

so i was thinking of a rs accont name ages ago i was there for 8 hrs just thinking...
than an add on the tv in the background  a macdonnalds ad for those old pasta boxes came on..
the sause was called zoo goop
and zoogoo was born but it was taken -.-
zoogoo+40=zoogoo40 ;D

I used to play WoW with my friend. He had a deathknight called doomstrider or something, and I wanted to fit in with him. I made a druid, who all I could imagine doing was turning into panther/cat form. I knew from watching him play a druid that they liked to scratch people with claws, and thus Clawstrider was born. Then I was just too lazy to make another name, so anywhere you see clawstrider, it is probably me.

I was super obsessed with the US Air Force as a little boy and desperately wanted to be a pilot. At the time when I was 9 or 10, my house number was 10334. Pilot + 10334 (or x to be mathematically correct) = Pilot10334

By house number do you mean your address? If so it works the same here, it carries on from street to street. I'm 8546.

Well heres a story O_O...but here goes...

When I was a little boy my sister teached me how to make an email account...She told me what should be my username and I've been thinking of Akosibitoy since its actually a complicated and wierd name for other people but in the Phillipines everybody knows what it means...Its actually a sentence combining my nickname...The words Ako means I...Then si means am...And bitoy well...thats my nickname :D so in english it means I am bitoy :) Now I've used that name to tons of acc. I have in games I play.

Haha my name always corresponds to the game I play. Eg, diguised for TF2, chaoslayer95 for runescape(mainly the slayer), ZombieSniper for counter strike online. As I only have te cracked beta, thus I am lLLEGAL! Now if someone can sponsor me a gift coupon for minecraft...

Minecraftgirl007 was born while I was going through this part of my life where I had to watch james bond ALL the time and my friend started calling my 007 and when I started playing Minecraft my best guy friend called me Minecraftgirl and when I tried the usuak nicknames I use and they were taken so I decided to use minecraftgirl but it was taken so i thought for about 5 minutes until my friend called and she said "Hey 007!" when I answered the phone and thats when Minecraftgirl007 was born!

 Rufarin - I got the name from hangover, "Roofies".
I made the account name "Rufarin" because I couldn't think of the drug that was in Hangover, so I put the closet thing i could think of down :P

Long history :P I started as BPA91 on runescape, made out of my initials and year of birth. Then I concluded my stats were fucked up so I needed a new one.
Thus 'Heer Aap' was born, which is Dutch for Mr Monkey. There was a big Dutch community on rs back then, but especially around the Karamja fishing docks there were always swear-wars between Dutch and Belgian members, so I didn't like my name being so obviously Dutch.
Some time after I started playing MapleStory with some guys from school. That's where I made Monkeylord91. I've been using that one for a very long time, and don't know why I switched to Mr.Monkey actually, but I like it more :) The first game I can find on which I registered as Mr.Monkey91 seems to be Trackmania in january 2010.

I was Spartan Rain on runescape, because it was a name suggestion. I played rs since it was back in classic, all the way up to around 2006.
I pretty much gave up video games when I met shelby in 2007, because we were so "busy" together. In about 2009, she started playing infiniminer, and she really liked it. She played that for a few months when I googled "games like infiniminer" and i found minecraft. I named my guy after my RS character and I started playing that game with her and we played it a bunch. Then she pretty much quit mc, and I still play it.

And that is my story.

My first user name was Sniper3306 for my Americas Army account. But when i started playing other games like minecraft it didnt make much sense to use the sniper part. So due to lack of creativity i chose my name lol.

Relkeb is based off my last name. My last name sounds like Bekler (spelt very differently, its a german name) so I just spun that around to get Relkeb.

I played a certain MMO a few years back where only the most dedicated of PVP'ers receieved a special set of golden armor. I was the only one of my personal friends who achieved that level. From the MMO days, "Here comes Gold," from the MW era, "bring that Golden army." Gold has become a part of my online persona in some shape or form.

Check me in-game rocking , my gold block hat and golden armor! (for funsies :))

I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to the organization of clans/guilds. Whenever I played a game that allowed more organization and place players in sections/groups - whatever you want to call it based on whatever game you play. I refer to these sections as Alpha Lance - Delta Lance - Omega Lance, etc whenever I was reaching the member caps in each one, I'd simply add a new section and poor more members in there then sort the players out to where they seem to be fitting in the best.

Everyone has their own opinions of another and have their own preferences in friends. I simply made it more convenient for everyone involved.

Of course I was under another name back then, but that's for another topic.

I wanted it to have "Teddy", but that didn't work. I tried t3dd, but too short, so I used numbers that were easy to remember, thus 123 at the end.

There was an online RPG game on browser called "Dragon Fable". I was playing it like 5-6 years ago. Me and my friend needed an username so we decided to make an abbreviation. So here is the complete version of my username:

atdfbttl15

anıl(My name) tuğmaç(my friend's name) dragon fable battle

The "15" part is a short version of "15963". Notice that it is a simple pattern on the num pad where you type from the bottom left to the top right then go down.

Then i started to use this username everywhere

The two usernames i use the most are ANTIKOYKOY and nos236. Story time:
My first ever nickname was nos2 and cam from need for speed most wanted. Then i played comand and conquare generals and i changed my nick to nos36 ( for no obvious reason) thus i combined both names and the resault was nos236. I used _NoS_ in mc cuz u couldnt use numbers in mc???
Then my forum name came from a song wich i heard and in greek means anti-boner :P (didnt know that back then)
It was causing confusion in non greek servers on css cause they couldnt spell all of my name correct and called anti, antony ec.

I always take way to long to make any decision of significance. My friend dubbed me captain indecisive for it, and I wound up using it for my 360 gamertag. I haven't thought of anything better so far, which, I suppose, validates the name further.

Oh, and it's "capt_indecisive" in-game purely because "Captain_indecisive" wouldn't fit. -_-

well in my gamer life i really don't have a steady username, recently i tried to change that by sticking with one.
i chose nerd sage because i wanted a not so common but simple name. Sage because i often daze off in "meditation", and I'm known to over think things. the nerd part was to humble it out a bit, and because if you ask i will gladly admit that I'm  a nerd XD

I quit because customer support gave up on me. They refused to believe my log in issue was a problem on their end (even though hundreds of players were having it). They blamed my computer, my firewall, etc. So I gave up on the game too.

Well, I came up of my name though another person. You see, when I used to play MH3 Tri online, I was part of a clan called the Nargacuga. The leader of our clan's rank was Elite, my rank was Delta, and my favorite number is 64. So there we have it.

My OTHER name (ZenotropicTiger) of course came from another video game. I was playing Metroid Prime, and upon first exploring Frigit Orphean, I was scanning everything. I eventually came to locked door with an unstable life form inside of it, and when I scanned it, it said something about said life form being Xenotropic. From there, I was creating my first minecraft account, and I decided to use an animal as the second part of my username. I decided on a tiger because they are violent and they eat other things. Of course, it being about 12:00am when I made my account, I spelled Xenotropic wrong.

So this is how I came up with my names.

hmm... well i was watching some show on Fox at the time back in 06 and one of the father figures on the show was talking to his son about how proud he was of him joining a band. He then went on about how he was in a band and how they were The Generators, generator too, generator four, generator tree. I decided as that was funny to me, that I was going to sign up for xbox live with TheGenerator but it wouldn't fit. So my brother helped me decide that I was now generator and IamGenerator wouldn't work either, so iGenerator was born.

I have tried some other usernames before such as iGeNeRaTiOn or JoeGenerator when iGenerator have been taken.

Ok, my turn I guess. I actually came up with this name for Club Penguin (yeah, I know). It was really my first time doing anything on the internet, so I needed a username. I had just watched the Spongebob episode "Chocolate With Nuts" and remembered the part where Spongebob was disappointed because he couldn't sell any chocolate. Spongebob remarked, "Let's just change our names to Why and Bother," before a fish came up from behind them and screamed 'CHOCOLAAAAAAATE!" So I decided to shorten Why Bother to Wyboth. I know, it's a pretty unorthodox name, but it stuck. I began using it all over the internet, so I couldn't really change it. So whenever you ask "Wyboth? What kind of name is that?" Well... now you know :)

I'll explain my old and new name. My first account on opticraft was Nutjob808. I sometimes like to research and talk about conspiracy theories, so one day while talking about conspiracies to my cousin, he called me a nutjob, I thought it was funny so I decided to use Nutjob but it was taken so I added my states area code at the end 808. My 2nd account 5OO was created because I wanted a shorter, easier to type, more mature, neutral sounding name. So I decided to use a number as my name. First I tried really low two digit numbers like 10, 20, 30, etc but they were all taken. 100, 200, 300 etc were also all taken. I tried it again using letter O's but they were also all taken until I reached 5OO.
