Hey, for everyone who hasn't seen it yet, I made the statue of liberty, with the help of toxicstriker91 and xoiiku for the inside. It took about 2 days for the pedestal, and another week or so to complete the entire statue. The inside is still a WIP.

Big progress made with covering the stairs within the statue. They are only blended with the walls below, so you can still look around while climbing.

This is easily one of Opticraft's star pieces. I love it when I see something built that shows just how amazing Minecraft classic can be.

Yeah, we should call them the "Crafting trio, and after they finish their work, we put the signatures of each one of them :P

We made some progress on the inside, the ground floor is now almost done. :D We need 3 more stairs and a ridge along the ceiling. Then we will start working on a stair from the second floor up to the statue and try to blend the stairs in the statue itself with the walls.

You should do it in the 'junk' world, not in the lobby, that should reduce lag by a lot. Wait for the world to be entirely loaded before you start taping, that also help. For the one that wants to go and tape it, I made the cursor 75% transparent, so you can download my minecraft.jar (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/19711803/minecraft.jar) if you want. It has the clouds disabled as well. Also, some guy from crafthub (http://crafthub.net/category/crazy/) will probably drop by soon and maybe ask some stuff about it. Can anyone be so kind to show him around if I'm not there?

This was done with mc-edit obviously, and the parts you can see is actually all there is, 128 blocks high. Does anyone know if there is a working mod that allows the height to be more then this, for I can't find any :/

I think we already tried finding a mod but we failed :D But, in Minecraft 1.8 there will be a easily-moddable 512 block high height limit. This means, bigger SoL and maybe we could even start your Hogwarts you planned :D
1.8 sounds like a great Minecraft update and I can't wait :P

lol, anyways, i recently am playing on a beta server where ther is no height limit.
the owner is a real plugin freak and doesn't know what he adds cuzz it's so much.
this causes the server to crash from time to time.
my point is:
it is possible to increase the height limit, but idk which plugin allows it :)
