Introductions / Hello! It's been a while...

First off, most of you probably don't know who I am. I used to be an Admin here.. and well "disappeared". (I know.. I'm awesome right?)

I became preoccupied with another subject and I need to keep at it. I can't afford distractions! I'll be going to college soon so I need to keep studying. I will admit though, I shouldn't have just "disappeared". It was completely wrong on my part. I should have explained what I was doing.

Anyways, I'm here to say, Hello! I'll be dropping by every now and then, but I won't be nearly as active as I "used" to be.

I would also like to sincerely apologize to Opti, Hannot, and others for my sudden disappearance. I am glad to see the Opticraft server doing so well.

I will try to actually stop in-game sometime. Until then, see you later!

Projects / Lobby world

As some of you may know we are having a lobby world implemented into the server.

Theme:

Christmas!

That's correct a very nice theme for the holidays coming up.

Time:

I suspect I should be on around 3-4 PM EST time. Possibly 5PM  at the latest.

Production of the lobby world will most likely start then.

Participation:

If any builders want to participate this is fine (and appreciated). All I ask are you follow the guidelines listed below.

Guidelines:

Not too many since you are builders and should know the major guidelines.

Do not build anything on the map without checking with me first
Once you start to participate please do not run off and leave something half-done. Unless you absolutely have to leave.

If you build something and I ask for parts of it to be re-done please do not take it offensively. It is the lobby world that all guest will be looking at, and it needs to look it's best.

I will most likely assign you a certain job to do if you are willing to participate. All help is appreciated.

That is all that needs to be said currently. If I need to add anything I will edit this thread.

Non minecraft creations / Building game (Project)

I have been working on this project for over a month. Although it has been off and on work so I cannot give a real estimate to how long it took.

I truthfully took very little time in preparing this video. So don't expect anything that great.

As you may see I still have a lot of work to do.

This is coded in C++ using the DirectX API

Some things I plan to do to optimize include:

Occlusion culling
Frustum culling (semi-added)
Allocating new memory every few hundred blocks (Creates virtually endless amount of blocks) I may change the method of doing this
Code clean-up and possibly small rewrites (Have some warnings I need to fix, also need to make better use of pointers and reference functions)

Features I plan to add:

More textures
Fix jaggedness around some areas of light (Fixed easily by adding a couple normals)
Light dimming and brightening. As well as range setting.
Block types (Actual water, ladder blocks, etc)
Custom texture loading
Custom model loading (Debating limits)
Multiplayer (Eventually not expecting anytime soon)
Many more I am sure

Everything in the video was done by me. Except for the music (Neimer - Two hearts together) and transition effects from Sony Vegas.

I don't really plan on working on this anymore until after New Years. I plan on adding a lot of these after that.

Reason for application: I want to become an operator to help guest and show them that this server has active operators.

Why you should become an operator: There are multiple times I have come on and no ops have been available. Not to say they are inactive just different time zones and schedules.

Extra information: I believe I will be able to contribute to the server and show that it has proper support against griefers. As well as other inappropriate behavior.

EDIT: I would also like to add I was an Admin on a game called "Blockland" for a year or more. This game (at the time) was very similar to Minecraft.
