Hi, I've found a lot of people live on the East Coast of the USA. I mean there are many who don't, but still. I was thinking about having an Opticraft reunion so you can meet people in real life. The reunion would take place during the summer. I don't know where or what state. This is just a suggestion.

We are kids(mostly) if there were any adults, id be freaked lol. Not to mention our parents would not let us travel for mc.

I've thought about this before, but scrapped it because of travel costs and privileges. We could all do Skype if we wanted to.

I don't remember if Skype still makes you pay for group calls, though. We may have to use ooVoo if it does. I'll also have to get a good webcam at my Dad's.

I like what Deekay said in terms of everyone meeting at minecon or something like that... That way no one has the burden of trying to come up with a where, when, and what to do whilst there. lol
As for skype you do hafta pay for group video calls but not group calls which is basically the same as using mumble lol
Oovoo is sometimes buggy (at least... it is for me lol)

I like the idea of meeting in person, but it seems very unrealistic. The only way I would be able to attend this is if it was at Minecon or some place driving distance from here. Anyways, I like the Skype or Oovoo idea! I could make that work for sure.

Since i live in canada... metting in person would be diffifcult :S but th skype idea seems cool indeed.

We already talk to each other every day and hear each other's voices over Mumble. It's only awkward if you make it awkward.
Speaking of awkward, I've already friended two Opticraft girls on Facebook, one of which is four years younger than me.

There's a huge difference between talking to someone on mumble and being in the same room as them.

could host this event on skype

I would be happy to join a big skype call. I find skype better than Mumble because its more flexible and easy to use.

Well, you could use a program called Teamviewer 8 (http://www.teamviewer.com/en/products/online-meeting.aspx) (free ofc) which supports up to 25 people.

I wouldn't really call it a reunion, since we never really left. Anyways, I have Skype, and I'd be willing to start a group call tomorrow at 8 PM Central time. If you'd be willing to join it, please respond. We need a schedule or else it's never going to happen.

Then comes the problem of time zones. 8pm might be convenient for Americans, but people in Europe, won't be so chuffed, and i thought the point of the Skype was to broaden the horizon beyond america...

Apparently, Skype will not allow video group calls, at least for free. I've said it before, but nobody listened. We all need to use Team Viewer (http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx) if this is ever going to get off the ground. Otherwise, it'll just be Mumble. Please take this suggestion.

There's a website called tiny chat, someone could make a room and it allows multiple cam and chat :) also its very safe as you can put up a password to only allow certain people in, used it last year with friends

Just don't use video? Use voice calls, I have lovely chats with crippnfeet, Lil_devil4994, NlKOLA and crippnfoot (everymow and thwn, usually on a tuesday :p) All the time, nice ,clam, peaceful chats.. :)

Here's the thing,
it's basically impossible. 3/4 of the people that play on this server are children under the age of 14, and I HIGHLY doubt any parents would approve taking their children somewhere to talk to people you met on the internet (which my parents think are all 40 year old pedophiles)

Not really but I know what your trying to say here. We have to do a servery to find people on Opticraft who live close to each other. You never know, maybe a mod could be my next door neighbor.

That's a good iea, but I'm betting that most players on Opti would be unable to come, as it was said before, most of us are kids, and our parents would never DREAM of letting us go to it. Although, I believe my family IS going to NY for vacation this summer so MAYBE I could see you? I proably wont see you though sadly. I like the idea of having more irl friends on the server with me(I only have 1 sadly,Buckers100, and we currently dont really like each other on Mcraft but we do in real life. Good idea anyways though. Cya.
