Hi guys! Its me, haq1. Now, i know some people wont be asking where i am but here's the truth:
My old laptop broke down :( 2 weeks later my dad bought me a new windows 7 laptop. I was sooo excited thati could play
Minecraft again, but i downloaded it and when i put it on it was creating the minecraft jar. Suddenly it crashed and a message came up and said: Bad video card drivers! I had noidea what that meant so i tried to find the minecraft jar but it wasnt
created! :( :( :( :( Iwas soo upset that i couldnt play minecraft and see all my friends.
I hope you all understand. :( :( You might see me on my cousins laptop once or twice every 2 weeks but i cant come on daily
cause of school and homework!
Thanks for reading! Bye!

I can help you with your video card driver problem!
What do I do then?
-
Just find out what your video card is (you can type "about" in the control panel to find it) Go to the website that makes it, download and install the driver, restart and enjoy

Ummm where do i find the video card in the control panel??
-
Either look in hardware, or go to the top where you can search the control panel and type "about" Then click the only result, it shows your computers system info and includes your graphics card :D
-
does this work for windows 7?
-
Also,I cant find it. :( :( :(
.Under system info it dosent say anything about the graphic card. :(
-
Do this
Go to 'control panel'. Then click on 'display'
Go to 'screen resolution' and you should see rightunder something that says: 'advanced settings'
Click on that. Then something should pop up. Click on 'properties'
Then click on 'driver', then 'update'
Something new should pop up. Let the laptop search for stuff automatically.
(These words might be a bit different, because my PC is Dutch, and litterally translating might be not 100% right. Also it is a personal computer, so it might be a bit different from a laptop)
If the PC couldnt update the driver itself, ill come back to you.
-
tried that but it said latest driver updated. I tried to go on minecraft but it wouldn't work. Anyone have
any other suggestions?
PS: I will be using my cousins computer until further notice. :
-
No idea :-\

Try uninstalling your minecraft folder in %appdata% completely this will cause you to lose any single player maps and your online server list then try starting from scratch.

Although very good and correct to a certain extent.. This only downloads the whql (windows certified drivers) which may not be actually the latest driver as provided by the manufacturer.
anyways....
Have you fixed the error with your graphics card driver? or at least found which card you have?
If not, this is what I do (Windows 7):
- Hover over "Start"
- All Programs
- Accessories
- Command Prompt
- Type "dxdiag" and a new box will appear with your DirectX Diagnostic Tool
- Select "Display 1"
- On the Left in the Device you will notice the "Name" (Important)
- On the Right in the Version you will notice the "Version" (Important)
- Open a webpage and go to your favourite search engine and type "[Device Name from above] Drivers"
- Find a link to the manufacturers website and follow their instructions to locate your latest drivers
- If your "Version" from the dxdiag (above) is older than the one shown on the site, download the update and install. If not, you know it either isn't the driver and should investigate further or re-download the update, install, restart and try again.
Hope it helps
