Title: Is the server down?
Post by: Llyrrr (XpLo) on November 18, 2011, 10:35:05 pm
Hey so.. i just bought beta, I tried to join the beta version and it said "Disconnected by server"   "Outdated server!" but it indicates that there are 2 players online so if anyone could get back to me on that it would be awesome.

Thanks.

It's your fault for updating, should have said no.

There are links to the Minecraft 1.8 beta client in the Minecraft Forums. You'll just have to fish it out in the home page (and make sure you save a copy of each client that you need so that you can just copy and paste when necessary)

There is a program called mcnostalgia that can downgrade your version.

If your stuck do these steps:
1. Download the 1.8 Minecraft.jar file here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/29539261/minecraft.jar
2. Click start and search: %appdata%
3. Double click the .minecraft file
4. Double click the bin folder
5. You should see a file called minecraft.jar (or just 'minecraft' if you have extensions hidden)
So copy and paste that file into a folder on your desktop (this will be the backup if you want to
ever go back to Minecraft 1.0.0)
6. Copy and paste the NEW Minecraft.jar file you downloaded in step 1 into the bin folder.
7. DONE! Just run Minecraft like usual and your good to go.
(To get the newest version on Minecraft back, just do the same steps, except use the backup minecraft.jar)

Hope this helped!

Thanks! Really helped me when I kept trying to mod my minecraft, and continually messed it up when I was experimenting ;)
