Supported!  It's a really good way to travel from point A to B, even if it might be a little hard to cuboid.

Were you recommended by anyone?:  Too many to list, but they can feel free to add their names if they like.

Why you should become a moderator:  As pretty much everyone knows, I've been a moderator here on Opticraft.  Due to being opinionated, having a lot of IRL stress issues, and having suffered a bit of minecraft burnout, I ended up leaving.

I've been operating Minecraft servers now for 2 years and have come to the conclusion that as an owner you can't always make everyone happy, you just do the best you can and hope for the best.  That experience has allowed me to reevaluate my decision in leaving and, while stepping away was probably the best thing for me to do at the time, I've come to the conclusion that taking a leave of absence (or stress leave) would have been a better option.

I'm looking to return to a Moderator position, and perhaps in time work my way up from there.  I'm extremely familiar with the vast majority of plugins used on this server, so that's no issue.  As most can attest I'm usually very quick to reply to tickets and try to be friendly even with the most difficult of players.

Thanks for your reconsideration.  I'll respect whatever decision you guys make.

From what I've been told this has to do with the anti-cheat... Apparently if your track stays in a flat line you won't "rubber band" back to the start, but if it goes up or down you will always jump back to where you entered the cart.

It's quite the pain in the butt, cause I've built a rail system into my mine and can't use it.

your timing is off, the trigger takes keeps 1 item at all times, if the filter is being emptied, you have a timing issue with the trigger.

So the problem with my setup is, I don't have an item in the trigger?... Makes sense

Far too complicated, I can show you in game, they are quite simple and compact.
The lineup is

Payment
Filter
Trigger
Cash storage

That's exactly my setup, except when I load items into the filter they fall into the trigger and then into the cash storage.  The only way around that (I found) was to put the filter items in the trigger, which allows the "filter" to get clogged by junk.

Then again, there could be something I'm missing...

Filter items should be 18_1_1_1_etc, and Trigger should be empty, right?

Well, I've been an avid console gamer for a long time now.  Started way back!  When the main-stream consoles came around I was big into the first XBox and had a ton of games.  When I got my 360 I added a few games to my list.  I also got a PS2 and a Wii around that time as well...

I have to be honest.  My PS2 and Wii basically have gathered dust pretty much since I got them, and my 360 is pretty much a media center.  I use it to stream video and audio to my TV/Stereo almost every day whereas I actually play a game on it maybe once every 3 months.  Don't get me wrong, I'm a hardcore gamer!  Consoles have just lost their appeal.  How many of you 360 owners are wondering if your XBox Live is going to end up like the old XBox's Live?  Basically when the 360 came out the old XBox's online experience vanished.  Microsoft doesn't care about old technology.  Look at XP, which is still the 2nd most widely used O/S in the world.  They no longer support it!

I'm not even hyped up about the "XBox One" or really any other console, because most of the same gaming can be done easily on PC with better quality and control.  Can anyone say, mod communities?  Yea, you won't find those on consoles.  It's been proven time and time again that PC gaming is where it's at.  You have more options to connect with your friends and you don't have to go through some big company that thinks they have you by the balls.

In short, will I be getting;

XBox One = NO
Playstation 4 = NO
Nintendo ___ = NO

Before starting, yes I know the applications are closed, but I've had so many people PMing me to reapply that I figured I'd get it done.  In addition, when I left I was told "just let us know when you want to reapply", so...

I've been running my own small personal server now for 2 years and have come to the conclusion that as an owner you can't always make everyone happy, you just do the best you can and hope for the best.  That experience has allowed me to reevaluate my decision in leaving and, while stepping away was the best thing for me to do at the time, I've come to the conclusion that taking a leave of absence probably would have been better than leaving the way I did.

Thanks for your reconsideration.  I'll respect whatever decision you guys make.

EDIT:  I appreciate you doing your job 2crzy4uall, however I wish you would have not moved it to "Rejected" until an Admin saw it, since they were the ones who told me to "reapply" at any time and make the judgement call on applications.  It's my understanding that an application can be posted at any time if you have been given permission to do so, which is what I was given when I originally left.  Regardless, I'll do as you suggest and discuss it with an Admin the next time I see one.

I don't really think this is off-topic, since we are talking about solutions to the chest shop...

I tried making the first hopper be the sorter, but when you load in the "filter" items it just tosses all of them into the second hopper.  Maybe if there was a chest between the first and second hoppers you could use the first hopper as the filter and the second hopper as the "trigger" for the circuit to release the purchased item.  It wouldn't really make a big change to the circuit at all, but might stop the clogging issue.  Sorta like this;

BOX (payment)
HOPPER (filter)
BOX (buffer)
HOPPER (trigger)  --------> Circuit to release product to customer.
BOX ("cash" storage)

That design is bad, a separate input and output, also it clogs.

Not that bad of a design, and the only way it clogs is if some idiot puts 8 different wrong items in the payment box.  In that case, the idiot looses their items and the store doesn't rip off anyone because it won't accept any payment when it's clogged.  It's still a good design when you need a very compact store like what I'm building.

Yea, you can just use a redstone chest to hold the sale items and a comparitor beside it hooked to a light that will go out when the chest is empty.

I'm making a very small 3-slot store on my island using the second (very compact) shop design.

They're apparently not going to be revisiting the store plugins, so here are some tutorials for different ways to build the vanilla stores (for those who want stores).  They aren't as hard to build as some might think.

Enjoy folks!

Note:  Most of these shops don't have an auto-shutoff feature for when they run out of items, so be sure to add one to keep your customers from being ripped off.

Well, I absolutely see Nick's point.  This plugin would allow people to basically just put a whole bunch of stores all over the map which isn't very fetching to see.  I don't agree that it makes SMP any easier, because people still have to earn money to buy the items and the store managers still have to keep the stores stocked with items.  Do we need it right now?  Well, I'm going to say a strong maybe since I do see a lot of chat messages with people asking for items that aren't available in the server market.

I do respect the decision you guys have made on this plugin in the past, but if the only reason to say "no" is due to not wanting shops popping up all over the place then you may need to revisit that decision.  You can now build stores using vanilla methods and redstone.  If not built properly however, these stores can easily rip off players where-as the plugin has more control to prevent that from happening.  In addition, these redstone shops (some of which use clocks) might be a higher resource hog than a simple plugin.  Regardless weather or not you allow the plugin you're going to start to see stores popping up around the map, which is why I thought the topic might need a revisit.

At any rate, I will still respect whatever decision is made on the subject.

Apparently there is some sort of duping glitch, but as far as I know, that was patched.

You're correct that there WAS a duping glitch quite some time ago, but it's been removed.  It doesn't allow you to make an "invalid" sign anymore.

Even with the server market there appears to still be a demand for player-operated shops on the server.  I've had some good experience with a specific plugin for Bukkit called ChestShop.

http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-mods/chestshop/

This very simple plugin allows players to create shops with just a sign and a chest.  It links in beautifully with most economy plugins and even has the ability to function seamlessly with LWC and LogBlock.  There virtually is no database overhead because the plugin just reads the signs and links to the nearby chest.

It also has really easy permission nodes so it's a really simple addition to the permission system;

ChestShop.shop.create.* - create all types of shops
ChestShop.shop.buy - buy any item from shop
ChestShop.shop.sell - sell any item to shop
ChestShop.mod - open any shop chest, destroy stores
ChestShop.admin - open any shop chest, destroy stores, create admin shops
