Thanks to Evan, I've come back for an unknown amount of time to the classic server. I'm mostly just going to be hanging out since I'm out of sprite ideas and because I can't build anything more complex than a box house unless I'm in Minecraft 1.2.5. But I wanted to say HELLO! :D

Hey I've been playing the beta a lot more recently rather than the classic. and so I popped into the beta server now that you all have one. It's good to see everyone is doing great. :) I think I'll be back for a while now that I have more free time.

It's the Pilbeam Engineering smp beta server. dug out a massive mine and made a couple sprites.

I had visited today to take a peek at how the server has been doing and i must say i'm impressed with those that have joined the ranks after me. I'm quite humbled by the skill of the artists you all have now. :) I've shifted my skills to the beta smp where the sprites aren't as far along as they are in classic. so I don't feel so small anymore. I still say Mr. Monkey has taken my place as king of sprites. (It was fun while i held it, but despite what you all keep saying. I'm no longer a god of sprites. look to Mr. Monkey.) I'm content with it all. I happened to make a stamp in a new server. and maybe you might come visit me sometime. =) ta ta for now guys. keep up the wondrous work. ;)

WoM has finally ended its strike and is now working for me. It's good to see everyone still plays and that all the work is still there. :)

My WoM Client has been acting up lately. and seems to refuse to find any servers at all. :( I've tried the old one and the new one for mac.

I normally find lava first. then search around it. and a good technique to use is the "Torches on the right" idea. place torches on the right side of walls when traveling away from your entrance. so when you need to know if your heading towards it. the torches will appear to be on your left :D it really helps when getting back to the surface.

General Discussion / Re: Java Developer Kit
« on: February 05, 2011, 12:59:39 am »
get eclipse it helps so much and the new bosten has some great tutorials on about 5 or so programing languages

Eclipse is very complicated for starting users. lots of buttons. many different options. i don't need that. I use jEdit because it's simple and works well.

General Discussion / Java Developer Kit
« on: February 01, 2011, 09:29:44 pm »
Recently i have found myself increasingly interested in browser based gameplay. as well as minecraft classic itself since it uses java. after a bit of signing up and accepting agreements at the mac java download site. I have a Java Developer Kit now :D I wonder what i'll make. might as well start with a simple "Hello World!" one. :P

If anyone is interested in java development. there are plenty of youtube videos and java is also free (as far as i know since you can download it right from their sun sight.)

found a few others:

Tron pack (in my opinion. it looks AWESOME at first. but some things weren't changed. and it's difficult to tell some blocks apart. not worth it but worth a check)
Steam punk pack
qpack (really simple. kinda fun :D)
