If you check out the melon farm in enderpolis, I don't think they use sticky pistons. Also, if you just want every resource, a small, not too high yield farm would work. But if you want it for PROFIT, it has to be quite large.

i'll see if i can get a slime farm up and running with zxfear in order to get some slime in the comunity... i don't promise anything as we have yet to find a slime chunk
