Slime spawn rate

I have heard that the slime spawn has been turned off. I would like to know if this is true and if so why. Does anyone know?

What I know is that some people sell stikcy pistons for 2k and other for 400$ each.

Spawns in general are broken, nothing new shows up (aka I've been exploring new sections of the map for resources, and there are no spawns in any caves I've visited).

I was exploring new caves during last weekend, and I found at most, 5 mobs.
At least, when Optical fixes the spawn rate which is a major part of the server since it is a survival, has to post it.
We all are interested about that issue, and a post would be helpful.

It's either Optical fixes this, or he starts selling slimes in the Market. I would happily pay 500 for some slimes, but next to nobody has any, meaning that it's extremely hard to get your hands onto.
