For all you Heavy miners, How much money do you make after each mining trip? I usually make anywhere between $3,000 - $10,000 Mostly in iron, Gold, Redstone. These mining trips take like 2 hours :P Thats what I do when Im not Doing my mod job

I make 100 dollars up to 5000 dollars especially with my long and random and confusing block 6 2x2 mine shafts. I find coal and iron rarely, lots of lava, and lots of redstone. I also get diamonds. I waste a lot of torches too. Gold as well.

I can easily rack up between $5k to $10k on a pretty quick 60 minute mining trip out in the boondocks.  Most of it is done in caves and would be off Coal, Iron, Redstone, and a little Gold.  I'm sure if I stuck around for hours, did nothing but mining, and sold all the materials instead of restocking my chests I could net $50-60k a night.

The trick is to mine caves in an area that has been either untouched or "skip mined".  A lot of miners look for only high-level stuff and leave iron/coal behind, which I call skip mining because they skip over stuff.  Big mistake in my opinion.  I make a fortune off that stuff and can collect it FAST.  I've gone through skip mines before and have come out with two to three stacks of iron.  Do the math people, that's 14 to 21 blocks of Iron that will sell for around 6-10k on the market... and some fool just left it there.  Not to mention the stacks of coal and redstone that they also leave behind.

You can also do strip mining between layers 10 and 16, but I find that doesn't net you material as quickly.  You DO have a better chance of finding good materials though.  Since diamonds can't be sold on the market anymore, this type of mining isn't as useful as it used to be and I pretty much avoid it when possible.

I never sell directly what I find. The most of the times, I keep the material. The things I sell are items that I have huge quantities, or useless to me items.
I cant characterize in balance change, a mining trip.

Midgetized:
I stash all my minerals, so far I collected over 2 double chests of redstone and used over 1 double of it on auto farms. I should sell the gold I collected got 3 stacks of it. I keep coal to use on cobblestone and sand and iron. So I make negative money because I reinvest everything into my work and buy from the market selling pumpkins.
