You can't expect Opti to make a mod for everything that kills you.

As for falling down holes, just don't run around with your eyes shut, I have seen many I just dodge them.

First rule of Minecraft, don't dig straight down. :)  Also if you're weary of your surroundings you should never fall down a hole!

im very happy the second rule of minecraft, don't dig straight up, is not needed on opti XD
as gravel does not kill, and lava is slow

Yeah i agree it is really bad. By the way, while i travel to specified coordinates, i always look to my coordinates on the F3 screen and dont make attention to details. It is really annoying when you fell into one of those holes and it really sucks when you lose all items for nothing. That is why when i see holes like this, i always close them for other people(and of course for not to fall into one on another day).

Calling a mod is more efficient as a mod can ban the person who dig the hole. I see these holes usually on the deserts. Becareful when running around the desert.

I don't know why people risk their stuff just to dig more quicker. I always dig in a 2x2 square where i dig one block down and then turn left, one block down turn left.... It is an efficient mine as you can climb back to the surface, it doesn't kill people and you get a better chance to find ores because this technique will be in a larger area. It is really ridiculous to dig straight down as you have a 10% chance to fall into a lava pool.
