How do I speak in Global chat?

I type "/join Global" and it says I am already in Global, but when I speak I am speaking locally. How?

Also, I just left Trade and Local but when I try to leave Global it says "You must stay in at least one channel" but when I type and press enter it tells me I must join a channel. WHAT?

do /ch g then type your message, you only have to do that once to hop in to that channel

I don't actually know what /ch join <channel> does but to change your channel you type only /ch global(or trade,local) and your channel will be changed without confusing you.
