i got banned for griefing?

i got banned from griefing a house apparently, i was on for the eighth time and was mining down a tunnel and i hit a block and saw the inside of the house and then i tried to fill the spot back in.  but before i could i was innstantly banned. i am truely sorry for mining into the house and i will never build in that area again. i am wondering if i could be unbanned or have a lesser-ban? thank you, from Tallerguy.     :'(
