New World In SMP for [Trusted]

Hello fellow Opticrafters. You all know those griefers? All the random people in your home? Drawing too much attention of MOD’s? Well we have got a suggestion on how to reduce the traffic.

The Suggestion

We think that a new world is needed in the SMP server. This world could be run alongside the current world, with a warp between the 2 worlds. The second world however is only accessible by [Trusted] + ranked players, due to a few reasons that have arisen by the vast population increase. This large population increase has brought many good new players to the server, which has really helped boost the popularity. It has also brought many more greifers to the server, which has been of a large problem, hence why more staff have been introduced. But we feel we need to do something more than just an increase of staff. For the number of people who are of the [Trusted] rank, we think that new world for these players would be of massive benefit.

Benefits

These benefits include:

- Much more space for the [Trusted] players, which means there will be more space to build.

- Greifing will be significantly less in the new world, than in the first world as it excludes all Non-[Trusted] players from joining the world.

- This new world will give normal players a motive to carry on playing with us. They could eventually gain the trust of the staff and earn the [Trusted] rank and an exclusive world.

- It will free up space in the first world, which could be used by the Non-[Trusted] players.

- The staff would have to carry out little maintenance on the second world, and so they could focus on the first world.

Questions

Will the current [Trusted] players be able to take their items with them?

I don't particularly care if we can't even take stuff over, it will save so much in protecting big builds you have planned.

Also, I have an idea of how this could work. Optic could pre-load some chunks outside the world boarder, say 1000 blocks out. There would then be a warp to the center of this proloaded area. Only trusted could get there, and there would still be a world boarder in the middle. I think this works for everyone's plans.

We have had many discussions about this, and Optical has this as part of his plans to 'reface' the server (because we are long overdue for a need of revising).
