morgosin:
My problem is that Everytime the phone rings my internet disconnects and reconnects several times until the phone is hung up or the caller hangs up, where it disconnects one more time.

 I don't have dial-up internet,

But my internet provider is Century Link. This is an ongoing problem i have been having, and i was wondering if anyone knew how to fix it.
Do i need a new phone or a new internet provider.

Do you have a DSL filter installed on the phone jack that your modem is plugged in to?

That's probably your problem then.
Your digital internet signal and analog phone signal come through the same cord, so in order to keep the phone signal from interfering with your internet signal, there has to be a DSL filter in-between your phone jack and your modem.  Some should have come with the DSL modem, so check and see if you have any.  If you don't, I don't think they're very expensive.
You also could use filters for each of your phones, because otherwise you will hear faint beeping (the digital internet signal) while you're talking to somebody.  That's not necessary for them to work, though.
