REI's minimap

Hello there,

I am liking the mod of REI's minimap

and I am wondering if using this mod would be considered cheating. If so, as I have not installed it, I will not install it.

The only mod you are allowed to use is Optifine. Rei's minimap is not allowed.

I think that's a poor excuse they wont let us but I do belive the whole €dvantage thing is a flawed argument.

Diamond armor is stupid it give you an advantage.

See how that works?

If you invest the time into something that provides an advantage such as farming diamonds you deserve it.

As far as mods go there could be a list of useful mods such as reis and if you take the time to read the list that's your up if someones too lazy too that's their problem.


The only +ig advantage from reis is deathpoints and slime chunks. Mob radar and ore finder and cave mapping is turned off on smp.


I understand how staff feels about mods but that doesn't mean I have to like it :p

Well, the server wants to remain for the most part in a 'survival' feeling. They don't want mods because they are an external source that make survival a lot easier. With the use of mods, there are things you can accomplish much faster, therefore eliminating the survival experience. Yes diamond armor does give advantages, but it's an already implemented part of the original game and it has so far not been changed in any way by our server.

There could be other reasons as to why mods (except optifine) are not allowed but I may not be aware of them.
