Pretty sure they can't :-\ Someone stole my whole farm of animals, and Tobs couldn't do anything.

put your animals in a fence, then put a protection stone at the middle thats protection area goes outside the fence,  no one can build to get in, or break to get in

You would have to case them in (caged, two high atleast, then at the roof), or they will still be able to kill them.
