I'm English, I did 12 full years at 6 different English schools(12 years all together im not 72years old>.>). and they all taught me that the smaller number as at the thinner end of the '<' or '>' . eg... 10>5 . Ten is BIGGER than 5.
You, sir, went to a very wrong English based school :p
