1.8 SMP Server offline - 1.0.0 is coming soon!

Hi,
As of today, the 1.8 SMP server is now offline, and won't be coming back up.
The map download will be made available shortly!
We are working hard on the 1.0.0 update, and it should be ready in the coming week or two, depending on the level of polish we put on before making it public.
The new server will have a much, much larger map, economy system, a market, protection stones (personal zones), 4 starting warp villages - with more to come as we expand, new ranks, tiered staff system (mod/op/admin/owner), vote rewards (in progress) and more!
Feel free to post questions/comments/suggestions here about the upcoming 1.0.0 server.

How does the ranking system work?
will it be ingame ranking or will you need to apply on the forums?

They haven't all been decided upon yet.
Member rank will simply be acquired by signing up on the forums.
Trusted will most likely be in game only.
More rank information will come out once its finalized.

I was once on server (WoM realms) and they have a system where you get your own world, in our case it would be a zone. To get ranked up you had to get people to /vote when in your world if they liked it. If you got so many in a certain amount of time you get ranked up.
Could this be an option, or is it not possible?
