Which matt are you talking about? If I'm thinking of the matt you're thinking of, it's Matt88222. He never got banned, he was way too inactive.

Just counted, there are 30 classic operators (including on trial) and 2 SMP operators (the other two are now classic ops).

They are still SMP ops. They are global ops. The global op rank on the forums is having issues so relkeb is fixing it.

He wasn't inactive, he left the server to run his own. You can still find him on IRC occasinally.
