Why am I banned?

I have NO clue. But I really upset about it. If I'm baned for a GOOD reason, let me know.
PS: I was NOT given ANY warning of a possible ban, this was OUT OF THE BLUE.

you were banned for breaking heaps of steps in someones mine and putting down heaps of cobble in their mine A.K.A griefing.

I apologize. Though I do not remember doing this, if I did, I'm sure that it was unintentional. Also, I could fix it, if not already done. Also also, since this is my first offense, do I get a second chance? Or am I just banned indefinitely?

I certainly hope it wasn't my mine. I have steps at the top leading down to bedrock level in a spiral-like fashion.

there is a long shaft from your's and lucho's mine (where the netherportal is) that goes through coolguy232's mine, which at that point you didn't mine around you just made a huge cobble path and broke heaps of the steps.
But your apology seems sincere so i'll give you another chance, it won't happen again though.
