No you only need the glasses to view pictures, but to play games  in 3d you need a 3d monitor.

Not really, no. Movies, and some games (including minecraft) does not use polarized 3d. I expect you to know the basic difference between normal and polarized 3d if you are going to post anything regarding 3D projecting, other than "I like 3d movies :DD:D::"

I do know the difference, its just that very few games use standard 3d well since not only does it look worse, it takes a toll on your GPU. Now you can also avoid buying a monitor with nvidias 3d glasses that flash each eye on and off in synchronization with your monitor, but that will run you $100. I just said you need to buy a monitor because it was simpler than listing all the options.

Was it not obvious that this thread was about Minecraft 3D, and not any other game?

Sharp make the best 3D screens as the are:
Autosteroescopic which means they display different images to each eye. Like this
Normal:
V V V V V V V V V V V V V V V
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

3D
/ \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
The screen is in the 3DS and uses parrelax barriers so each pixel can be seen by one eye only not both. It is also used in Range Rovers so the driver can see the satnav and the passenger can watch a film.
Sharp have even made a screen that displays 3 different images but i dont think it is in production. If you want to know more:
Look here: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autostereoscopy

PS I couldn't have 3D on my iMac, the GPU reaches 75°c as soon as I start playing minecraft. It also has a built in screen.

Yes but we got a bit off topic, because i said to play GAMES. Not to play minecraft.
