But let me ask you this: Why are there not given any chances to unknown people? When did familiarity become the key to do good for the community?

Take for example Barack Obama. Not only did he have a foreign name and background, but remember, he was actually "unknown" for the majority just some years earlier, before his presidential candidate. Still, people gave him a chance, and he didn't fail. I feel this is a similar situation.

We can't trust someone we've have never (or rarely) seen before with the powers and commands of an operator. Also, comparing yourself to Barack Obama isn't the best comparison in this case.
