Issue regarding talking on SMP: "Cannot send chat message". Not muted.

Weird thing happened today, so I logged in and tried to type "hey" like normal, but I got a read chat error: CANNOT SEND CHAT MESSAGE.  This is weird because I logged off last night fine, no issues with staff and I wasn't muted.  So either a random staff member muted me last night, or, most likely something is acting weird with the server.  Relogging won't fix this.  Anyone got any help with this?

EDIT: Had roza mute and unmute me, did not work!  Still getting the red error message.  Is this a known issue?

Dunno if this is the fix, but try this:

Options... > Chat Settings... > Chat: Shown
Make sure it says "Shown" and not "Hidden" or "Commands Only"

Yeah that worked, thanks for the help.  This topic can be locked as the issue is resolved.

I must have turned off chat by accident or something dumb, thanks for the fix.
