I know that I was banned for grieving. I thought that the building had been abandoned and was stripping it for resources.

Stripping a build for resources, abandoned or not is not allowed on our server. Any damage done to another players work can be considered griefing and may result in a ban. You will have to wait out the entire length of your ban.
