My Horses Despawning Please help?

Okay,
So I bred all my horses today
And I left for like 5minutes and I went up to check on them and half of them where gone
Is there a limit to how many horses you can have?
Is there a problem with them spawning?

Either way I am really bummed out since I used all my gold on them and they just dissapeared.

theres a mob cap, you cant just have a million horses in 1 room. split each horse into individual rooms /9you can have 4 horses per 2x2 area safelY)
