Why sharpness 5? Who's gonna even use the axe to kill monsters?

*facepalm* for both
an axe has just 1 damage point less then a sword, making it a more then fine weapon
and ofcourse you will use the more damage equip, so thats where the bane enchant comes in
when there are spiders etc around, the axe becomes stronger then the sharp sword and makes a fine secondairy weapon
if i would slap sharpness on the axe, it would ALWAYS be weaker then the sword and will be useless as a weapon
