Join Messages / No Join Messages
Chief149:
Here is a suggestion. It's a light suggestion.
Simply put, the idea is for people to have quotes that get shown in chat upon joining the server. Instead of "Chief149 has joined the game" (using my name as an example), you would see the join message set by me.
Lets say _gavin does /joinmsg hey peeps
When he joins the server, you will not see "_gavin has joined the game."
Instead you will see "Hey peeps"
If you would prefer to login unanounced, simply do /joinmsg with no message after it. This would be useful for someone to join without having a bunch of people trying to talk to him or her (has happened to me a lot. No offence but sometimes when I come on I just dont feel like talking to anybody, but when people see "Chief149 has joined the game" everyone I know in the server starts PMing me lol).

I like the idea, i also like the idea of not having any msg. It could also be implemented so you can turn off seeing join/leave msgs. But this would be cool if implemented
Pugabyte:
Sounds cool =) Supported

I can see people abusing this and writing things like "_gavin banned opticalza" or "_gavin was promoted to Op" (as examples). It is too open really and custom join messages will make the chat look really untidy.
Don't get me wrong, it makes it a more personal message when you join and less generic but at the moment people already greet each other and the join messages just gives information to the people on the server. Maybe disabling join messages as a whole or toggleable? I don't know, but I do see people messing with this.

Wait, but how will the server know that you want a custom join message or you just want the "____ has joined the game."? You can't submit that answer before you join. Or will this /joinmsg replace the "____ has joined the game."?
