The Server's Future.... 6 months on
thethermoflux22:
Some of you may remember me as the guy who put up the post about opticraft's classic server's future back in august 2012.
After forgetting about all of this (and not having time to be here) for 6 months, I decided to come back, around a year after I first came to opticraft classic.
The place is desolate. For the 2 hours I was logged on for, only two other players logged on (one was automatically banned my antigrief). There was nobody but me online for 95% of the time. :(
While looking back on my previous builds, they just seemed dead, static, unchanging and merely continuing in the server till the occasional hope of someone modifying them would come when that someone would log on.
This is not good. Opticraft classic seems to be already in a future of stretched timescales with practically nothing happening in it for hours, or even days. :-\
Please give your thoughts on this, I really want to know your opinions on this whole thing. This problem is showing that opticraft classic need something to get it out of it's heat-death.
RuthlessTomato:
The problem is not nearly as many people play classic at all.
iGenerator:
You showed up a year too late, everyone has noticed this going on. It has been more obvious since mojang shit on classic. Be it making the classic link nearly impossible to find or to not letting newly registered users to join servers. And the biggest slap in the face: Shutting off skin servers
UnknownHedgehog:
Basically what iGen said. While it's unfortunate and sad that they're doing this to Classic, I don't think there's much we can do.
DJAlphaWolf:
The most we can possibly do is bother opti to keep updating classic so it stays on top of the classic MC list. Even then...we don't have that many people. Igen already explained why that is. The demo is now freely available, allowing people to just build on Creative worlds if need be.....making classic essentially obsolete...
But let us enjoy it while its still here and hold on to the memories we had. There is not much that can be done.
