ok, now I get an error report before I can even get onto the menu screen, so I can't delete the worlds.
I went into the .minecraft/bin, and even after force update, there was no minecraft.jar in the folder

This should work I've done it before. Go to your .minecraft and drag any texture packs or world you want to keep into another folder. Then delete your entire .minecraft folder (if you want to be safe just drag it out of your bin into another folder) go to minecraft.net log in under the browser and it should create a new .minecraft folder for you.
Then just put all texture packs, saves, etc. back into their locations on the new .minecraft folder and it should be good to go

well, i got a luck break :)
my dad let me use his laptop for a few minutes so i could download minecraft on that machine (because my browser was derping), then i threw it on a flashdrive, and now the minecraft.jar for 1.4.7 is in my folder and i could go in and delete the test world. :)
this can be locked now, as i guess its solved?
