Chat from iPad mini/mobile directly to in game?

So I found I'm using my Apple stuff a lot more than I used to use it, and I was wondering if there was any way to chat directly into Minecraft chat?
P.S. I am thinking IRC... Just not sure if it for iPad mini

look in the app store for an irc app.
