Aquain: Ozzy's City Beneath the Waves [WIP]
OzzyKP:
I've been a bit distracted lately so haven't been able to finish my cathedral yet, but I've made a huge amount of progress. To tide y'all over here is a quick look at the main nave of the cathedral (and a dapper looking parishioner who recently received a successful exorcism in this very church). There have been a few additions and a few changes since this shot was taken (last week) and there is still plenty left to do, but here's a taste. Take note of the new texture I made for the nether brick fence supporting the chandeliers:

I'm in Michigan all this week and I don't have my computer with me, so I won't be around for a couple days. Then in Monday I'm starting a new job so I'll have less time to work on the city then I used to. So I'd really love to find a partner to work with me on further city expansion.

Back! (ish) Finished my third day at the new job, I'm loving it so far! But yea, my time is going to be very limited here on out unfortunately. But maybe I'll get some stuff done this weekend.
I popped on tonight, but I didn't really build much. I did however get some new screen shots! Here are some shots of the main sanctuary of my cathedral. I'm following standard cathedral architectural conventions, so if the terms I'm using to describe stuff confuse you, check this. The one thing that I screwed up on is that cathedrals typically face east, and this one faces south. I planned out the location and started building it before I realized the east thing. But... I guess nothing's perfect, heh.
This is a shot of the nave, looking towards the altar. Take note of the awesome looking texture for the carpet I created, I'm absolutely in love with this one. Red wool has never looked so good:
A closer look at the altar. The cathedral is built in a traditional cross shaped design with seating on both sides of the transept and the high altar & choir stalls in the "choir" (the part of the nave that extends beyond the crossing, i.e. the top of the cross). The high altar, appropriately, is all gold. The cross is wood (of course). The altar currently is wood, but when the new marble-type blocks come out I'll put that in instead:
Here's a look at the ceiling/dome. The chandelier supports are netherbrick fence, but I made a new texture for them so they look like metal pipes.
On either side of the nave are the aisles. B1ueJ0ker helped me make some awesome archways that separate the aisles from the nave. His ideas were big improvements over what I was going to do. There are four chapels that shoot off from the aisles:
Here is a close up of one of the chapels:

Keep it up though! :)
