If you were to change the voting reward...

Emeralds, or things like skeleton/creeper/zombie/Steve head

It could be like different heads for different sites

I reckon is should be money.  Since voting for diamonds decreases the value of them.  Since if it was something else like either skeleton heads, there will be too many of them.  Maybe you could do something like have a routine, for example:

Day one: $100
Day two: $250
Day three: $500
Day four: One diamond
Day five: three diamonds

They aren't the greatest example but I'm sure someone will come up with something good.

removing diamonds as the voting reward would be stupid. all things worth crafting require diamonds, and mining is not a reliable source to get them. therfore i believe that diamonds are the best possible reward fro voting, and i think the sever will loose players if it changes.

Booorad, Finding Diamonds is part of the survival aspect of The game :P

That is very true nhat.  This means there is no need to mine pretty much... It would be then called craft.
