Thats what i said, im sure they could make that work so that we could use the block but not use it for water.

But, ice stacks, ice can be used as a building material, and for effect (Ice under halfslabs)
ALSO: I reccomend not allowing ice to melt

How about there would be a command of which if someone breaks ice, water can be toggled on or off, I realize this might be hard to code, but it will be very usefull

Ice naturally melting is easily controlled by a WorldGuard configuration node, but keeping ice from forming into water, by breaking it, is not so easy.
Ice can be useful as a decorative block, mainly for 'glossy' windows, but ice isn't a common/ general building material.

Xeadin, the other day I broke quite a few placed ice blocks. They did not leave a water source after they were destroyed.
