The Auctioning of Banned Player's Items
« on: October 15, 2012, 09:41:53 pm »
Hey Guys,

With all the people on opticraft who have banned their stuff is destroyed or just sits there. I think it would be a great idea if their items were to be sold as the chests. With players not knowing if they were getting dirt or diamonds it would be an awesome thing. Please tell me what you think.

Thanks,
High Roller
im so sorry for this. my cock had a huge erection and it made an unpredictable growth and hit my keyboard. and then it spelled out a bad word that somebody banned me for. dont worry, my cock is being severely punished.

while i like the idea and think it'd be awesome..... kinda like storage wars for opticraft =P.....

there's always the dilemma of what if one of these people one day decides to make an appeal, get unbanned, and comes back on expecting to finish their house with all their supplies that have since been auctioned off.

at minimum you would need like a 6month-year waiting period after a perma ban before it could happen, and even still it may have taken that person a year to learn their lesson and the next day they come back to make an appeal

while it's a cool idea for the rest of us, it kinda goes against what opticraft is all about.
I'm Much more smarter admin than whoever banned me.

The money goes to who then. Also most perma bans that aren't appealed are mod related ie x ray

Yes exactly storage wars, Yuuuuuuuppppp.

The players would have to be perma banned.

The money would go to no one just the server.

And the ban would have to be no xray.

I was thinking about this idea recently, it's awsome! And what about being banned 4 times? Couldn't you action their stuff?
About posts, how do you even post a post?

cool idea, better than the items just sitting there. kinda cleans up alittle bit.

might not happen though. as tiggy said, there would have to be a waiting period of a respectable length. also, someone would have to keep track of all the players that have been banned (most likely the admins) and then someone would have to take care of the auction.
This would probably mean writing more code to keep track of everything.

Also, theres whether or not the items were legal, like they were duplicated or x-rayed. (tho i think those items are destroyed right after the ban).

But ig it would be more of an incentive not to get banned in the first place :P

Btw, giving the money to the server doesnt do anything, it'd have to go to players.

Do note that every suggestion that gets posted here has to work as an 'official' thing. I don't really see something like this becoming official nor being necessary. Sure the player is banned, but cant you just work for your own things?

I agree with DeeKay.

Although the items would be put to good use, there would 1, be a small chance of them being unbanned, 2, we use our stuff, if you need items, take a trip to the market ;)

What High roller? he's right, most the time those items are gained illegally. I wouldn't want to be a part of this at all lol
