High Roller:
Then if trusteds can only spawn them they will have a monopoly on the nether star market

RuthlessTomato:
Only trusteds can SPAWN  them.

bubblekiller:
In a zoned area only

I kinda forgot the whole nether star thing :P The nether star is used to make the beacon Block (previously the "working progress") the block gives you power ups when your how many blocks too close to it. Now people are going to want to build these to gain the power ups but will be impossible unless they can make a Wither and kill it.

Now making it so trusted's can only spawn them just wont work, as I said in my last post. If a trusted made it then someone griefed into their house and attacked it, it would cause too much aggravation. For this reason we cannot entrust them that much. I also think it should be Op+ as the same thing could happen for a Mod which would be no good. So if "no-one" can spawn/make them how do we get a nether star, well we do have the market.

Putting the nether stars on the market could or could not work. Seeing how they are rare they should be priced around the same as PS stones (in theory they are as rare or even rarer than the enderdragon) so it could be around $5ooo. Now the beacon block is very valuable its-self but its base is even more valuable. It's biggest one is built with 164 blocks of diamond, emerald or iron blocks; this raises the problem for high grief. If a player was to enter a world and see this beam they might want to go straight to it knowing there is "a pot of gold at the end of the" beam. Now we can sort that with logblock fine, but some players might get very annoyed because it might get griefed everyday.

Now onto HighRoller's point. If they could spawn it yes, they could make $10k+ on each star but it would be very difficult. Lets say an op gave permission to spawn one. Then the trusted went to attack it, it would basically destroy everything in its path to escape. Now if it was made so they cannot damage blocks it would be easy to make a some-what "Wither spawner" or "slaughter house", then there is also the point a trusted could lie about the permission. Seeing how "no-one" would have nether stars then there would be no sell sign in the market meaning they would be sold all in auctions which has no fixed rate. Seeing how no-one can get them people would pay "anything" to get one making them easily priced high. So HighRoller is correct and I fully agree that it should be at least mod+ to create one.

Altogether I think that Nether stars should be bought and not to make anyone have the ability to create a Wither

We could make it so the Boss does no damage to anything at all but there is still the possibility of the mass spawning of creatures. We could make it so Wither Skeletons don't drop skulls but that might be hard/impossible to do, and also loses the fact some people might want to collect all of the skulls. I think the only solution is to make it not possible to make a Wither Boss.

Animals have always, and will always, be able to be killed. People warp to your home and kill them. It's going to happen eventually. You calling it mayhem?
Turning off damage is fine. That, I can understand. And possibly make it trusted+ to spawn, so they're not derpy and spawn it right in the open, where they don't have a chance. But removing bits of Minecraft again and again and again is eventually going to start loosing us players.
