Ban Lookup

Well perhaps I could offer a suggestion that would aid in looking up bans.
I understand people don't post their username, but one thing that I've noticed is that if you type part of a username, the person you are searching for will not show up, but if you type the full name character for character then you will get the result. Perhaps make it show the 10 most relevant results.
So if I wanted to look up a ban, I could type "chief" in the search, and I would get up to 10 bans of users with the word "chief" in their username, and one of them would be chief149.
The other suggestion would be to have the search also let us go by forum usernames. For example, I misspelled my forum username and spelled it "Cheif149" instead of "Chief149" (got the e and i reversed). Therefore searching with a forum username would also search for results for the username of the minecraft account linked to the forum account. So typing "Cheif149" would search for bans of a (in this case nonexistent) player named "Cheif149" as well as the player "Chief149" since the Chief149 account is linked to my forum account.

will not work, for someone that has a similiar name, but just not similiar enough for the search function
i find my own suggestion way more usefull  ;) to have a longer history of all banned players
but lets see if others are even interested in this in the first place

very true, i guess this would only solve a tiny bit of the large formating guide lines no one ever uses :D

I like the relevant results idea. The forum name search might be a bit hard to implement because that requires us to hard-wire into the forums itself. Currently, the ban search feature is wired to the server's database itself-- extending a connection to the forums might make it messy.
