Ambience
« on: June 07, 2012, 04:36:08 am »
Just to help anyone out, if you have a home somewhere and you hear ambience, which is a creepy noise caused by even just 1 block of low level light, fear no more! (If you don't like it) I'll tell you how to get rid of it! However, if you do, be warned: you may not be able to notice unlit underground caves FILLED with ores!
(For windows:  ( I don't know any other): If you have different system like mac and know how to get to minecraft.jar, great!)
1. Go to start.
2.Type in %appdata% in the search bar
3. Click Roaming.
4. Go to minecraft.
5. Go to resources (or bin, then resources, lol dunno)
6. Go to ambience.
7. Go to cave.
8. Move all cave files to recycle bin.
9. Go to recycle bin and finish them off by deleting those things off with permanent delete!!!
10. Go to minecraft and be a boss.
I have "player phases." I've been a Zelda guy, a gangster guy, a Quagmire guy, a Bane guy. Now I'm a Rick Astley guy. :D

Ambience isn't really that scary, it's not like it will give you nightmares.

Well, to be honest, I HATE ambience. I'm a real coward when it comes to unpleasant surprises.  :P

Play with sound bro! What if you are in an unexplored area, and you walk right by a mob spawner, because you don't hear the sounds of the mob. Also, what if you are walking, and there is lava, but you don't know! You can't hear it! And then you walk right into it. Or a slime..... Anyways, in I think you should play with sound.

I have explored a few caves since now, and I say a few because I rarely go to caves.
I usually get xp, chatting, sell things, or build around.

When I go to a cave, I move very slowly around. I wear an armor. I dotn really care about mobs.
THe only point that cought me, was the slimes' sounds. But, even that, I already have 2 slime chucks. So, I dont care finding another since I cant place my home there.

Its kinda annoying the game's sounds.

Yeah I play with sound in caves too. That's how I found one zombie spawner, I thought it was around the corner but it was below me. I've also found two slimes in my mine by luck and got one slime.

Me on the other hand cant play without sound. I get pissed if o dont hear the walking, the water, the zombie growls ect. And being a FPS player i know that sound can lead you to victory, especially if you have surround headset/speakers

I don't bother with sound, it helps my reflexes get better.
