Top Donor Title

Hardly... We're talking about donating to get something special in front of your name. You can already do that. With one donation I could change my title to whatever I want. Why would I want to donate a ton of money to get a "special title" that nobody really cares about, and will vanish after a month? There are better reasons to donate.
I agree that the Top Voter rank is special, because you have to make an effort to earn it and ANYONE on the server is capable of earning it. Top Donator? That's just the person who's willing to max out their credit card on a computer game. It's also pretty unfair to those who aren't of age for a credit card or are just incapable of donating. Trust me, I was on a server where there was a [Donator] rank and everyone who donated got capes. There was more whining in the chat window about not being able to donate than there were actual conversations.
...and before you argue. Yes, income for the server is always a good thing, but I think there are better ways it can be accomplished. New donation items, such as the multi-home project that's being worked on, as an example.
That is, if donations (or a lack there-of) is even an issue at the moment...

The Rank would not be pointless, I would distinguish you as a top contributor to the server. Something is worth what people will pay for it and in terms of a Top Donor Title, I believe the prices will be fairly high. The overwhelming support for the idea proves that the title in its own right holds merit among the community and is a viable and sustainable idea. Also in order to make the Title more prestigious special permission's could be allowed that wouldn't impact server playability (I.E. Enabling Fly for the Top Donor.) People will always seek out a way to be unique and set themselves apart from the rest, this is just one more way to achieve just that.
It would not Constantly Changing hands because it takes money and money isn't infinite; It would settle out fairly quickly and stabilize between a few Top Donors. Also In order to mitigate only having a top Donor title you could install a whole ranking system based on how much has been donated. These numbers could be adjusted base on how quickly the server population achieves each rank.
The Ranking Could Work as Follows:
Prime Donor - #1 Contributor
Than Each Level Below that could have thresholds.
Diamond Donor - $ 200
Gold Donor - $130
Iron Donor - $60
Coal Donor - $30

I don't think you realize how the donation system works on this server. You donate to get things like;
- Money in the game
- A "Hat" option
- Customizable Titles
- Mob disguises
- etc.
Those ARE your rewards for contributing to the server.
Sure, I'll agree that there might be a lot of support for this, but there's also a lot of support for giving Lava buckets and Creative Mode to regular players, which will never happen.
To implement this idea (which most people probably don't realize) you would have to completely revamp the way donations are handled on this server, making it a simple monetary donation instead of purchasing extras, and I think a lot of people who paid to have their extras (like myself) would be strongly opposed to that happening. If you want to donate every month then go buy yourself something, and if you're so concerned about having "TDonator" in front of your name make it the Title option for $20 and just do it.
I'm gonna leave it at that...

You can't, there is only 8 letters limit.

Why would it be so difficult to keep track of the monetary contribution of each players and bestow the title without revamping the system. Donating in any form supports the server, you would not need to remove your "Extra's" in order to implement this. Simply have a system in place that tracks each players contribution amount and than based on the highest value it would bestow the title.
