It's funny I thought I had updated my beta to 1.8 on my desktop by mistake but I still have 1.7.3.  I can try and post this "minecraft.jar" file for those who need it (unless its against the rules).  I'll try to do it in 3hrs after I get out of my physics class.  Can someone tell me what files exactly I need to post and where they're located?

Type %appdata% in your start menu. Click on the 1 folder that comes up. Then go to .minecraft
Click on the "bin" folder.
Minecraft.jar is there.

Heh I bet you're using windows vista or 7, I have XP but I managed to figure it out.  Here's the link for people who still need the 1.7.3 minecraft.jar http://www.mediafire.com/?rbcy9xdmbe2s90y

Edit: File no longer available

But I thought it was ok to create "back-ups" of games and as long as you owned/bought that game it's ok to use the "back-up" of that game from someone else.

Kinda like roms as long as you own the game, you can download its rom legally.
