Title: Do not update to 1.4.6 - Now safe to update

Just letting you all know not to update to 1.4.6 until we give you the all clear. We'll update as soon as possible.

I am soooooooo sorry i accidentally updated to 1.4.6.  When will it be updated i really want to play!

I'm sure the devs over at Bukkit are working hard on bringing us the new build.
There's no set time of release as each build takes longer than others.

Go to youtube , Download a 1.4.5 file and place it into :
Type %appdata% at search , then hit roaming => Bin => "right click" on open => Open with WinRar => Rename your current minecraft file that is updated "minecraft1.4.6.jar" => Place your recently downloaded file there , Everything should be alright , I can play 1.4.6 whenever I want and even on the server when i rename my files

Why can't the server update whenever it wants.  I want to play soooooooo bad. PLEASE UPDATE!!!!!

Because our core running settings for servers are made by Bukkit. Since we aren't Bukkit we have to wait for them to update it. Our devs. then have to modify the homemade plugins we use to be compatible with the current Bukkit. It takes time but will normally be all done within a day for two.

Putting up an exact, or even approximate, date or time isn't going to be any helpful. We're relying on the plugin devs to come out with a stable build for the servers, so it will be based on THEIR time frame, not ours.

Just my luck… As soon as I get home from my holidays I can't play Opticraft, I have been wanting to play Opticraft for days and days.

Hey everyone! I did this and I immediately found a solution. Quite easy actually;

1*. download http://assets.minecraft.net/1_4_5/minecraft.jar (http://assets.minecraft.net/1_4_5/minecraft.jar) this jar file
2. type %appdata% in your search area
3. open up .minecraft
4. open up the bin folder
5. now replace the .jar file for 1.4.5 that you just downloaded with the minecraft file already in it
6. delete the file called version that should be below the minecraft file
7. enjoy!

(Late) lol Minecraft was updated during my night time.
You guys really need to read all the replies before making your own complaining about updating… You should also make sure you have the older version in a place where you can just switch

Some files you get from YouTube are in no way safe (not saying all are unsafe), so a trusted source like Mojang is a lot better and more advisable.

we've already told you, read the thread properly!
we have no eta on the server update release, as of now, we are waiting for a stable build of 1.4.6 to be released.

do note, we are not developing these bukkit builds mate, so we can't control the release of it.

don't worry about that, that usually happens to me right after i download it. just continue on with the steps that are provided in the previous posts or the video link above.

Benjaminc, same thing for me. I did the whole thing and when it asked me if I wanted to update when I logged in i said not now and then it continued to say "Updating Minecraft" then goes to a black screen.

Benjaminc that happened to me too so I deleted the 1.4.5 re did the whole thing and now when it gets to that point mc just goes black
