Project Application: Emerald Keep (and grounds)

Approximate dimensions: 250 X 250 blocks approx

(covering the castle and surrounding grounds inside the low perimeter wall embedded with coal protection stones and topped with jack o' lanterns, as well as the ditch/moat/lake etc inside the protection field around the perimeter wall. This includes an island just off the North East coast surrounded by a cobble wall)

Although technically 1 large building it is made up of ~20 towers and other buildings linked by curtain walls

What state is the project in, and what are your plans for its future, if any:

The perimeter wall has been built and the area inside landscaped and forested to provide a natural setting for the Keep.

The walls, towers and other buildings of the castle are complete externally with basic furnishings in place internally. A circular viewing railway has just been built as well. The whole castle has been built to be part of the landscape with minimal ground leveling/clearance and it is now being detailed

The next steps once the structures have been detailed is to extend the castle complex over the river bend it is on by building a further tower to the West and also a cathedral to the East in the forested hills overlooking the castle

Why should we grant this city protection?

Significant work has gone into the project over the last 2 1/2 months and the keep is now built - it no longer looks like a building site :)

Castles are a popular build for other players on Opticraft and hopefully it will provide some inspiration to other players. If the whole area were protected I would leave the castle permanently open and accessible to visitors. At present I have tried to secure and limit access as there have been a few instances of griefing and the size of the project makes it very difficult to use Protection Stones to protect it fully.

The Keep is open now as promised although I am continuing to work on it

No? It's in "Accepted - City Applications". Anyway, congratulations qu1cks1lva! I've seen this castle and it seems it was definitely worth the protection...it's big, epic, and had a fun minecart track going around it...(It's huge). XD
